BUDAPEST DAY TWO
Waking up on a Tuesday morning in Budapest, I was really hoping that the forecast for the day was wrong. Me and my boyfriend expected the bad weather because every single forecast website was predicting 70% of light rain. Guess what?! No sign of rain, sunny with 24°.
First stop that day was in walking distance from our apartment. We went to see Heroes square and I was blown away how big this thing is. Like really HUGE 😲. Than we went to check on the Széchenyi Thermal Bath (from the outside) and took the second oldest metro in Europe to see the Hungarian State Opera House. I was really sad we could not tour the Opera, because we were there too early. But from what I saw it was breathtaking.
Next stop was St. Stephen's Basilica. My goodness 😍. The architecture is so beautiful i can not even put in words. I was really speechless. Well almost everything we saw left me that way. I could totally add House of Parliament in the same category as St. Stephen's Basilica. It's huge, architecture is absolutely amazing and I could sit there for hours and stare at every single detail my eye could possibly reach.
For little more chilled sightseeing we stopped at the Budapest Eye and went for a couple of spins. I really must say I was scared for the first spin but than I relaxed and it was really beautiful to see Budapest like that.
The last on the Pest side was Dohány Street Synagogue which is the largest synagogue in the Europe and second largest in the world. Now that was stunning view. I kept asking myself how on earth did they manage to do so many details. All the stars and patterns, colours and materials... Oh just stunning 💛
And for the last we wanted to see Citadella and Budapest at night but we failed big time. We waited for the bus to arrive for more than 45 minutes and on board kept showing it'll be there any minute and it never came, so we went back to the apartment and we will make it there next time!
