METAL DAYS 2015

Welcome Metalheads

This was the greeting you get when you came to a little town called Tolmin for the Metal Days festival.

Every year, the metal enthusiasts gather in this beautiful location for some alternative music, good food/ beer and to meet all kind of people.

This year you could really call this place Hell in Paradise because the weather was so hot and sunny (every day we had from 37-40°C). So to cool down they drank a lot of beer and water, or they would just jump in the Soča river.

So to get the feeling of the festival I gathered some photos with a help of a new friend, enjoy...

Local accessories and food
The local had gathered in one long line in the camp area. There you could find local food, handmade accessories from lace, handmade leather belts and stuff, or local medicine, soups and creams. It was a great idea to share our culture with foreigners.

The beach area (Sotočje)
To cool down, you just had to swim in our emerald river. I saw a lot of people burned because they forgot that "our" sun is a lot stronger. So the medic had a lot of work keeping the people hydrated and protected by the sun.

The concert area (the first stage)
I actually forgot to take a picture of the second stage, but I can just tell you that's a bit smaller than this one. The media say that we had approx.12.000 visitors, and that is a lot (for Slovenian standards). The lights, effects and the sound were perfect. You could listen to bends in the middle of the crow or sit on a near hill.
