DIY | FABRIC FLAGS BANNERS
As always I forgot to take pictures from the beginning and usually remember to do so when I'm almost or already finished. So this wasn't any different, but I thought missing a pair of pictures won't change the general idea. :)
- To start this diy I went trough my fabric storage to check if I had any cool black and white fabrics and to my luck I had a few. Then I cut a 15 cm high triangle out of paper (you can make it as big as you like) and laid it on the fabric and cut it around and I ended making 6 pairs of each fabric. Because I was doing this on Sunday right before I needed to go to the Ljubljana, I decided I won't finish edges instead I ironed triangles on the fabric that has thermoplastic adhesive on one side.
- After all being ironed on the material, well of course, they needed to be cut out. Then I folded the bottom side and ironed it so it would stay folded, because later this will be the pocket for the string.
- With all triangles being folded you can see there is excess of fabric that needs to be trimmed. There's only one thing left and that is that fold needs to be sewn, so we can make a pocket for the string. Since I was doing that in Ljubljana I made everything by hand, because I don't have any sewing machine in my apartment.
- After finishing with sewing I inserted, with a help of a safety pin, the string into every pocket and my easy and quick fabric flag banner was done. :)
I have to say I had fun doing it and I really love the result, especially because the room is not so blank any more.
Kisses, Sa.
