FROM WHERE I STAND

Have you ever had this problem?

You go into your favourite clothing store and the minute you walk in you find the most beautiful dress/trousers/shirt that you need to try. You pick up the size you're wearing and storm into the dressing room. But when you put it on, it doesn't fit, what's even worse it's way too small.

The first thing that comes to your mind is a possibility of gaining some weight. But in the end you finally realise, that the size on the dress it's not actually "the right size", so you have to pick a bigger one, which for some women can be really depressing.  This happens all the time to each and every one of us.

So for the future of fashion we'd like to make a small contribution and try to make it better, since fast fashion is increasing and so are clothes that go to waste. Did you know that of the 5.8 million tons of fabric waste Europeans discard every year, only 25 percent is recycled? EVERY YEAR?! That's millions and millions of tons that can't be degraded. And for the purpose of that we made sustainable master thesis that could help the future of fashion.

Master's thesis actually explores the development of fashion, clothing sizes, sustainable fashion, and multi-functional clothing. Although the identification of clothing with numbers is practical and necessary for quick purchase and quick production, in today's time more and more clothes are not defined with the right clothing sizes. One of the inspiring vision for refurbish the fashion industry is to look back in history, where clothes were made in better quality and in smaller amount. Bringing this concept back by using new knowledge combined with new organic sustainable materials and new technologies, we can achieve a smarter and better way of producing clothing pieces, that can be worn by women of multiple clothing sizes. The true  one size fits all. Doing so, we could bring back the confidence to the buyers(girls), we can make shopping online a quick click and we can make progress into preserving our world.

''Buy less. Choose Well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. Everybody's buying far to many clothes.'' - Vivienne Westwood
